JG27_Mainz Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 Has BoN gone on sale before? I was hoping to pick it up for Christmas at something below $80 but it looks like it's not included in the current Winter Sale.
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 Pre-order dlc are never discounted. You can buy it now, when will released (+10$) or you have to wait +/- a year to have some small discount
Avimimus Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 Well, technically it is discounted by $10 USD during the pre-order period... then it goes up in price... then, usually, sale prices increase gradually over the first two years after release. The longer one waits the cheaper it is, but it'll take at least one or two years before sale prices start leading to significant savings. So, the question is - is an extra year worth use an extra $15-$20, is two years of use worth an extra $30 etc? I sympathise though. Especially with Battle of Normandy, as it has some real odd ball aircraft (Ju-88C, Ar-234) plus some that usually haven't been sin in sims (Hawker Typhoon, Me-410). Not to mention people's obsession with the Mosquito and love of late war high performance Spitfires. 2
JG27_Mainz Posted December 25, 2021 Author Posted December 25, 2021 Yeah the Spitfire XIV is my favorite of the BoN planes.

Even if Battle of Normandy goes on sale six months from full release, I'll have played the map and its planes for less than 44 cents a day in that time. Factor in that we've played with several A/C from the Normandy release for months already, the cost per day goes down even more. To my mind, it's a bargain at full price but then, to each their own. 1

Yes, compared to a lot of other forms of entertainment or something like getting food from a restaurant it is a fantastic deal. Of course, not everyone has the same amount of money on hand - and sometimes there are higher priorities than entertainment in peoples' lives. Edited December 25, 2021 by Avimimus

However, if one has already purchased prior installments, obviously must have the computer capable of running the software and an internet connection then waiting for a dirt cheap price before purchasing the latest installment always baffles me. But like I said, to each their own.
