PB0_Roll Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 HP reverb. When aunching the mission there's a tiny "mission loading" text on a frontview of a Lagg or a Yak, neat and steady, but the background image of the hangar is flashing as in a nightclub, the stroboscopic effect is painful, and I guess could cause epilepsy if I was sensitive enough. I've seen no progress in a year, since I got this VR set. Closing my eyes while the mission is loading helps, but this stroboscope effect is still very unsetting, even with eyes closed. The "other sim" does not have this when a mission is loading, nor other racing games, that's specific to great battles. Is it, in addition, specific to the reverb ? Is it being worked on ? I've read nothing about it in a year, but I may have missed something. 3
PB0_Roll Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 The neat/steady mini loading screen indeed gets out of the way if I turn my head 90° right (or left), the flashy epilepsy inducing background remains, however.
9./JG27golani79 Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Most of the times I just close my eyes during flickering - but it is kinda annoying, yes.
Vishnu Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) Normal with all VR. It does that with the Quest 2 as well. My son has a Rift S and plays other games. It happens to him too. So I think it’s just a VR thing. I close my eyes if it becomes bothersome. Edited January 2, 2022 by Vishnu
AEthelraedUnraed Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) With OpenVR, I have no flickering on loading a mission and an overall smoother experience than with SteamVR. I do have a problem with disconnecting; my headset tends to do that every once in a while. With SteamVR, I can just reconnect again while with OVR, it crashes. So alas I'm forced to use SteamVR... But if you haven't got any problems with your headset disconnecting, I can really recommend OVR. Edited January 2, 2022 by AEthelraedUnraed
