custom hud

just wondering if theres a mod or something to allow only things you want on the "cheat HUD" like maybe just the compass and ammo count, no speed/direction/waypoint markers?

I use this mod which works great:

NOTE:  This is not my mod just one I use.  Unfortunately I can not give credit to the creator since I am not sure who it is.

 

 

As title says, you can customize your speedbar (if any) by hiding elements you don't need (such as speed, altitude, etc.)

This simple mod doesn't do anything by itself, you have to make the customization yourself.

1. Download this file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/lmkddu1371qgaeo/Reduced_Speedbar_2.zip/file
2. Unzip the content and copy it under your MODS folder in your Il-2 GB installation.
3. Within the mod, go to the file "MODS\Reduced Speedbar\Data\SWF\Il2\Gauges\id.txt" and open it with a text editor.
4. Go down to the line

&planeMainStationDefault="compass,time,speed,altitude,fuel,engineSelector,currentStation"- compass: displays heading with directional indication of mission targets and info on wind direction/speed
 - time: doesn't appear to have any effect
 - speed: displays TAS
 - altitude: displays AGL
 - fuel: doesn't appear to have any effect
 - engineSelector: displays which engine is selected in multi-engine aircraft
 - currentStation: displays available ammo, rockets and bombs
5. Delete whichever you don't need, save the file, and activate the mod via JSGME.

Known issues: when you spawn in a plane, the speedbar appears only after several seconds.

I uploaded a newer, "streamlined" version.

It appeared that the content of the "graphics" folder (included in the 1st version prior to 03.12.2019) is not needed and was causing delays when the game was loading non-default skins. (I couldn't figure out why.)

Users of the older version may want to
1. disable the mod
2. go to the "MODS\Reduced Speedbar\Data\Graphics" folder and completely delete it
3. re-enable the mod

ok, thanks a lot this does the job brill, just 1 thing, is there a way to remove the waypoint marker on screen, i only have the compass on the hud now, as a lot of the time i find them difficult to read/see, but if i could remove the marker too, that would be even better

Sorry I am not sure how to remove the waypoint marker perhaps someone else can help with that.  Glad to hear the mod worked for you I really enjoy it.  I wish I knew who made it so I could thank them!

ICON_NAV_Del  -deleted bracket/waypoints (near the bottom of the list) :

I use it and the first icons pack in the list together. My icon information is reduced to a small red or blue dot.
