rowdyb00t Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 (edited) This is the skydome and lighting from my cloud mod. Just one of each for summer and winter. More to come hang in there - 1 skydome for each summer and winter - skydome color adjusted to better match real. - skydome is brighter 180degrees from low angle sun. - lighting adjusted for more natural colors. You can now see the cirrus clouds better. - winter light is no longer blue nor are the cirrus clouds. JSGME friendly SKY and LIGHT.zip Edited December 19, 2021 by rowdyb00t 7 9 2

Koziolek Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Oh, the neverending road to perfection ? But of course very good for us. I'm just glad you are not my boss ??? 2
Jeroen83 Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Thanks for this mod, rowdyb00t. Question: in Il2, even below the thickest of clouds or in heavy rain, there is always a faint sun visible. This is primarily noticable as the shadows in the cockpit never disappear. To me, this doesn’t look right. I remember in the old game Birds of Prey, based on the old Il2 engine, overcast weather felt more dramatic as no shadows were visible at all, just like in real life. I liked the ominous sense of it. Do you think this is adjustable/moddable in the current Il2? Thanks again!

I’m not sure if this is fixable. It was this way with the old clouds as well.

MajorMagee Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 There's a problem with using this with update 4.702 in low light / night situations. It blocks some of the darkest shades in the new clouds to black squares. It seems to still be okay in full daylight. 1
Skipper- Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Can I check if this is needed (included?) or working with the current version of the game. Just recently reinstalled and am updating my mods.. Thanks
MajorMagee Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 It's no longer needed / compatible with the new game environment system.
