Chir Front - Campaign by Veteran66 - revised for game 4.701b

The fabulous Veteranen66 Campaign revised (again) for game 4.701b, with permission from author Veteran66.

 

 

WARNING: the game will crash if you don't install two files first: a now missing .epl and a luascript. 

 

They're included in a JSGME installer file, Put the unzipped file in the MODS folder. You'll need 'Mods On' then in your game settings.

 

You can take them out and place them in the appropriate folders permanently if you don't use JSGME, locations found in the JSGME folder

The  campaign must me in a folder named 'Chir Front' exactly, or the beautifully done media files included won't play.

 

PS i have kept the Chir Front campaign OUT of the JSGME install.

As said it will crash without the JSGME included files. Latter contains ONLY the missing epl and luascript files. I found them in an old v 4.008 game installation.

You can take them out and install them permanently also, they even might be needed for other old missions and campaigns now crashing, and seem harmless in 4.701b

 

You'll find the folder locations in the JSGME folder ... I asked the devs to put them in again ..

If you find any errors let me know, with a proper descriptin of which mission and the info from the eventual pop-up screen.

I'm in the middle of the Chir Front campaign.  Can I use this update without losing my progress in my current campaign?

I think so, but you can (and should always regularly, fi with updating) first backup your swf>IL2>usersave folder; that's where the campaign progress is saved IMO.

 

PS if you play ChirFront resaved in game v. 4.701 already, you only need the epl and luascripts installed i think.

I changed nothing except locked weapon choices to select-able.

I followed the prescribed procedure. It's not working. IL-2 falls into Windows. I'm sending an error screenshot.

Hi everyone.
Still can't get the campaign to start. The same error keeps repeating. Is there a solution or is this campaign definitely dead?

Hi Alan. Try adding a folder named test inside mapemitters folder and copy all files from mapemitters to test folder and try to start Chir front.
