Annoying grid pattern at cloud edges

As I posted before in the discussion forum - a teammate of mine is having problems with grid pattern at the edge of the clouds. We both have an AMD graphic card. But I can´t reproduce this effect with my PC. We compared our graphic settings but found no clue... Cloud setting is "extreme".  He never used any mods. We tried every graphic setting possible with no result. We checked the graphic card driver too. The grid pattern always persist. The only thing notable was with a low target fps "on" it was worse... He is using a 1920x1080 60Hz resolution like his screen. Vsync on or off made no difference except for tearing.

Two people with nvidia graphic cards mentioned the problem in the discussion forum too. Is this problem known? And is a solution thinkable? It´s sad for my teammate because in the current state he can´t enjoy the last fabulous update as we do...

Here is a picture of the graphic problem taken by my teammate:

What are we supposed to see?  I cannot see anything in the image that appears odd.

Please look at the edges of the cloud especially on the right side above the dark ground. If you download the picture and zoom in you will see a grid pattern or a net pattern. And it is no VR version it is the 2D game with a screen. Ingame it is much more visible as my teammate said.

Did you get this to work with the banding as well? I tried it but still saw banding. The gridpattern is a minor visual artefact, annoying but the banding is much more visible.

It does not have a visible effect on the banding. It just makes the dithering pattern more random, so your eye is not drawn to it as much.
