Rescan of Input Devices

Type of improvement: Allows users whose USB devices become unplugged to have the game re-recognize without having to exit completely
Explanation of proposals: A button on the Keymap menu, accessable in-flight to have the game rescan/re-initialize all USD input devices (Joysticks, Track IR etc...)
Benefits:
Loss of the inevitable "F$%& I forgot to start my Track IR, hang on, I have to exit and re-start" statement when pilots forget to start their Track IR or other USB devices.

True story: I was playing IL2 the other night when my cat decided to unplug my Track IR USB. Of course, I replugged it, but had to exit the game for IL2 to re-recognize the enhanced tracking.  If there was a rescan button, the game would re-recognize it, I would not have to exit.

On many occasions, I have heard fellow pilots with the same issue, having to exit the game entirely due to USB devices becoming unplugged, or losing power etc (suddenly not available). A Rescan Input Devices button (similar to what DCS has) would fix this.

Pretty sure this would be an easy addition, as the USB recognize/initialize routine is already present in the code, it would just be a matter of having the ability to  manually invoke the routine.

Maybe you should have a talk with your cat - I know, you cannot educate a cat, but she might want to tell you something? My cat does similar things, when I do
my hobbies... like all of a sudden I can't find my brushes for painting my models, can't fly because my cockpit seat is occupied etc.
Don't think it is your cat and you own her - it's the opposite my friend, it's the opposite.

It's actually my daughter's cat we are cat-sitting for, but he is a real a$$hole as far as cats go.

Remember dogs have an owner, cats have a staff...

Yes, cats can be a**holes sometimes, but what do you think they're thinking about us? I always had cats and
I love them, because they have their own will. I love dogs and animals in general too, but cats are individualists

like I am... and yes, sometimes I can be an a**hole too... ?

Cheers

Can't we all?

But seriously, all cats apart, having a rescan capability would solve the problem of Track IR random freezes, forgetting to start it etc (and cats unplugging your USB hub)

I can start OpenTrack up after launching the game and getting into a flight and the game picks it up instantly. Perhaps the blame lies with TrackIR?

I doubt it. Try disconnecting a control device in game, then try reconnecting.  Pretty sure it won't work, especially if the device uses its own software.  At least, it doesn't for me.  I have to completely get out of the game, restart it to get IL2 to recognize it.

DCS is the same, except DCS has a rescan input button, which is what I think would be nice in IL2, would make many folks life easier.
