Windows 11 VR

Hi,

 

For anyone who is having difficulties in VR with windows 11 and a vive headset I can offer the following solution.

 

The problem I have encountered is severe jerkiness and lag only when the game window is selected and active and only when in the game (i.e in the cockpit) The problem is rarely present in the menu. It's a known issue for windows 11 and fpsvr and shows up as pink spikes on the CPU/GPU monitor.

 

I have found that opening the task manager and force killing the "vive VR compositor" causes a black screen in the headset  for a few seconds then appears to restart and everything runs smoothly.

 

In terms of performance, I appear to be getting better performance in windows 11 than I did in windows 10.

Also, for Quest users, forcing console visibility in the debug tool smoothed out my game 10x.  Makes no sense, but 100% fixed my terrible jerky issues.
