can't load single player missions

Recently I discovered that I can no longer load off line missions.    The list of mission folders appears and when I open a folder I can see the list of missions, but when I select one I get the notice that 'files are loading but they never do.   The 'files loading' message stays in place and if I click the start/select button I am dumped back to the top of the mission folder list.

 

What could be the problem?

You need to resave the missions so they work with the new game update. See this post for the procedure to resave all the missions in a selected folder using the mission editor. Note that resaving can take a while depending on mission size so it may look like the editor has locked up.
