Updating game causes me to lose connection

Hi, for the last several updates, the game launcher starts to download at a reasonable speed, then it slows down, and my internet connection shuts off.  I have to restart my router to get the connection back.  I am on Windows 10, and have wifi service with Suddenlink.  I have contacted support, but they haven't been able to stop my connection from shutting off.  Does anyone know what is happening?  Thanks.
