Can't use the zoom in/out on any button or axe of my joystick :-(

Any other function/ command to any button and axes on my VKB MGC joystick (or to my Virpil CM3 throttle) are working but when I assign the zoom in/out it takes it - but in the game it doesn't work ?

 

Very annoying as I need this zoom in/out.

 

Any solution ?

I use the hat switch on my TM T.16000M for my zoom with no issues. I don't think the zoom function works when assigned to an axis. What button/axis are you trying to assign it to?

Well I tried all buttons and it get assigned as I can see but in game not working.

As it is also mentioned that you can assign it to an axis I also tried. Same results, assigned (it says start at the center then move for increase and then move for decrease) and then not working in game ?

Zoom can be binded to a axis. Make sure you have binded the correct controls.

 

The relevant controls are under Pilot Head Control tab:

Pilot head : zoom - bind a axis here

Pilot head: zoom in - a bind for button

Pilot head: zoom out - a bind for button

 

Note that you need to hold button down if you bind the zoom in/out controls. Under camera controls you can change how fast zoom works.

 

If it still doesn't work I would check that joystick buttons do indeed work in game. Try binding them to guns so you can easily see if it works.

User with T16000m here.
Had the same issue, bvut managed to bound zoom1 &3 to buttons on my stick.. the other zoomfunctions did not work.. hence the post before me.

If you're running the game in VR then zoom axis, zoom in and out controls do not work. In VR you need to use quick zoom commands.

But if you're on a monitor you should be able get that zoom on axis. I have VKB MCG too and it works for me. Here is how it shows in my 2D settings (I've different control layout for VR)

 

I have the zoom binded in one the hat switches. I used VKB software to change up/down movement of the hat to relative axis so the it doesn't return to 50% zoom level when released. For whatever reason I need to zoom in first before zooming out works. No idea why it is like that. But once I have zoomed in at the start of mission the zoom works both ways. It is a minor nuisance.

I had to look not into camera but into head movement and zooming etc....Zoom max, min, steps etc....It works now!
