Q: skip intro videos ?

I thought it was possible to skip videos during game play like lengthy intros etc ...

I just hit ESC when they start?

The problem is you are waiting for background processes to load.  I can't be positive, but I think 1C made changes awhile ago to front load more stuff.  This made starting the program longer but loading missions shorter.  That's the way it feels to me.

 

So if you are not watching intro videos or a slide show then you will be staring at a blank screen or something else.  Whatever it may be, you are not going to get to the actual game any faster.
