I hope desperately the FW and LA5 find their way into multiplayer finally. I am having a blast flying but its time for something new.

 

What i hope for:

 

FW 190 and LA5

Stalingrad map permanently

Bigger playercount

Fixed instruments

Singleplayercampaign

You know it's always silent when a big storm approaches, maybe there's a good reason we got less input the last few weeks

The 190 would rly be a big suprise to me (even after numerous assumed ETAs given), hopefully it'll come with a nice dev video introducing and explaining it a bit ingame.

 

Stalingrad only does not need to be tied to patches, it's a server setting only and can change any time without inteferring with patch plitics (still agree this would be nice to have for tomorrow!).

 

Heinkel would also be welcome, though they may want to keep the exitement up for releasing a blasting dev diary showing every finest detail they've been working on.

 

Edit: I'd like to throw my hat into the ring and propose performance / engine optimation for multiplayer (so it doesn't get too laggy with 20+ people on)

I hope there is coming some great stuff. The last weeks, it was a little bit lean in my opinion. Not much new stuff, only some pictures and words. Hope they will bring some great stuff, fully functional cockpits would be great, and the 190 would be the best! :D

I would guess, more often than not. Atleast if people start switching from the historically accurate servers to the almost historically accurate servers to fly that plane.

 

I'm not really against that though, i don't see that much that the 190 can do better than the 109 against the current Soviet planeset and it might spice things up to have more than "one" fighter type around.

 

I think the last thing i read about the 190 was that we'll get it "later this month", so that doesn't sound like tomorrow to me. And the last update sounded like they are planning to release something big tomorrow, i don't think a single plane would really count.

 

I'm very much expecting some sort of SP content update, maybe a first look at the campaign. But everything is possible i guess.

No, DX11 is not planned. It also doesn't offer anything much more visual wise over DX9. There are side by side comparisons between DX9 and DX11 with other games and you'll be hard pressed to tell the differences. DX9 also reaches a wider audience, and supporting two different renders isn't easy with a small team.

It was avaliable for one weekend (two weeks ago i think) and i flew it a bit.

 

Stay fast and only engage when you're sure you can bring the enemy down quickly, then you can do alright. If you get involved in a turn fight, you're in huge trouble, if your opponent knows what he's doing (this might work well against the 190 though)..

I think the La-5 can be great when used in pairs, with a good wingman.

 

When you want to fly defensively and turn with your opponent (which seems to be the most common approach in MP right now for some reason), i think the Yak-1 is the better choice though.

must say im disappointed i thought it would even the ground a bit...so was it worse then the current Yak-1?

and what was the reason for it poor preformance?

The Yak-1 is very good. No, there is no even ground and there truly never is. It is always a leap frog scenario, one side releases a plane that dominates and then the other side answers with a better plane and so on and so forth until resources run out and better planes can only be released in small numbers that make no difference to a country that has already lost the war and just desperately holding on (like the 190D9, Ta152, Me262) until it is all over.

 

Anyway, the La5 will be competition against the 190. The Yak is better against the 109. It's a medium-low alt air battle just like it was historically. It comes down to tactics, capability of the person controlling the "plane" and numbers. The La-5 isn't worse than the Yak-1, it performs differently just like the 190 performs differently than the 109.
