Do older plane creations get engine sound upgrades?

Did that happen in the past or is even worth the hustle to upgrade older models to newer standards? I fly mostly 109s and 190s and there seem quite the different between engine sounds related to the release date of that plane. I don't know about the other planes so much. Latest FW190 release which is the A6 has really great sound, especially at idle. The a5 and a8 sound different again. Not that they sound much worse, but it would be cool to see the same standard in the future.
