#10005: Please update your game: New version available.

40 something missions into my campaign, having already enjoyed the new cloud patch - today, out of the blue:

The game (on steam) simply won't start and offer this message:

 

#10005: Please update your game: New version available.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

It means to please update your game because a new update is available...

 

I think thats one of the most straightforward error messages you can receive.

• Wrong aspect ratio corrected on HTC Vive Pro 2 VR headset (and possibly others that have non-square pixels);
• P-51D improvements by Oyster_KAI: propeller, gyro horizon indicator (AN-5736-1), Detrola (BC-1206) beam approach system, radio rack placards (SCR-522);
• Stalingrad smokes are correctly oriented by the wind;
• Fixed 'cut clouds tiling' on some maps;
• Rain added to 04_overcast_08 cloud pattern, some other patterns are tuned;
• Surface editing functionality was restored in Mission Editor because of the popular demand.
• SLI/Crossfire option removed from the GUI due to incompatibility with the new clouds technology. The option remains in the Launcher for now and in startup.cfg. You can read Jason's comments on it here.

Apparently it's wise to sell the additional or all crossfired GPU cards and re-invest in a single higherclass one instead ..... BTW you would not need a central heating radiator in your gaming room with these new kids on the block ?.

I've had the same issue. Sometimes the game won't launch because there's an update ready but apparently not ready enough to actually start downloading it. So you are stuck not able to update nor play the game. Well, in the latter case, delete the update files, cut the internet connection and you can play that way if you're pushed for time as I usually am

Thank you. No I'm good to go. It was only about a 30 minute window of no functionality.

It's not even a joke! I have a new 3080ti. I work at home since the pandemic started and I have a small room/mancave with two desks, one for my 'office', the other for gaming. The room faces North and I have trouble heating the room properly when it gets cold. Last week I started MSFS202 to see if there was an update. Just by running that sim in the menu, it heated my room up in no time! (btw it's silly they don't use a launcher for the updates).

Oh and yes, I have already 'undervolted' my graphics card to lower power consumption by 100 W or so.

I was told the 3080ti is the new central heater to get for a complete household, runs at up to 85 degrees Celsius.

My wife actually forbid me to buy it, just to save on our electrickery billings.

 It is not, as it doesn't tell you how or where to update from, besides i just did a fresh install so what what is it i shoudl do?
And strange that after i installed i could play but after a restart a couple of minute later i get this message?

i can only fully exit the software, but then how do i update it? this is very confusing
i just bought and installed  "Battle of Bodenplatte" so why do i have to update it already after playing only once?

Can anyone explain how i update? i downloaded the last built earlier today from il2sturmovik.com/store and this gave me the error message, where do i find the update?

Use the Launcher.  It updates automatically.

It's in your Main Game Folder > bin > game.  Look for "launcher.exe"

Make a shortcut of it and put it on your desktop.  Use it to start your game.  If there's an update it will automatically update before you play.
