Another "First Look" for the Apara 5K headset

Says pretty much the same thing as MRTV, in his first look from a month ago, but does comment on it in with regard to the Varjo Aero.

I am still locked in on getting the Aero but it will be nice to have choices if they can deliver on what they have promised with the Apara.

Seeing mixed message on if it does 70 or 90 Hz at 5K.

I take a buyer beware approach to this style of hype. When reports on actual use of such new HMD's are available then i'll reassess.

Another Hands On review of the Arpara with a more critical commentary

Arpara, with Steam VR Tracking unit fitted. The headset still has significant issues but it is impressive how quickly they are addressing some of the key issues.

Seems crisp too, but I'm not pre-ordering on Kickstarter without right to return anymore. The Chinese also have not cared about upholding European laws when selling here, even though they are required to. Won't deal with criminals anymore.

The thing has great lenses and fantastic OLED screens matching the Aero in resolution, but they seem to very much lack brightness and give a brownish tint to the bottom.

It also comes with just a 3m cable, making roomscale play basically impossible. What do they want, that the thing flies off my head after the first step?

No man, not with me ?

Arpara 5k, Microsoft flight sim video that makes some comments/ comparisons about Varjo Aero and G2.  Note: this video is still using Nolo tracking and DP 1.2 cable .

MRTV Video of Arpara 5k with MSFS and is using Light House Tracking clip on and DP 1.4 cable.  Some comments/ disclaimer about risks of dealing with emerging companies

Personally, am still happy that I have placed a pre-order for the Aero. If you are into dawn, dusk and night flying the Arpara has potential if they can sort out comfort issues and actually deliver it as promised.

I am with you there on the Aero.

Really hoping that will be the one I can put all my eggs into and get rid of some of this clutter in my office from all my headsets.

This one is interesting mainly because it is the first true mixed reality, the pass through is amazing, there's a video where they pop in and out of a VR environment to a mixed one.  Has some potential for everyone using cockpits.  Being able to see your pit by shifting your eye level.

Also the build of the lenses are something I've never seen before, the price zone is pretty good, resolution isn't pushing any new territory though.  Best thing is they seem eager to bust Zuckers chops and beat him with a true mixed reality, with a completely open package that can use anybodies software, including his.  Good to see some real new ideas and innovation finally.

Should be shipping production units early next year.

I've seen a trial of the Lynx in which was mentioned that it would have an open lens design. So you'd see the environment around you as well, to the sides of the lenses.

No idea if that remains true though.
