New clouds and strange effect

Hello

First I need to mention that new clouds are HUGE step forward! It looks much more realistic and behave in more natural way then previous ones. Great achievement guys. I've been writing so many times here how important the clouds are for a flight sim and now we have it! I understand that this is first iteration for there public and work will go on but would like to mention two things that I noticed.

First one is blurriness of some clouds from the distance. I can understand when distant to cloud is decreasing sharp edge of the cloud is going blurred but from the distance cumuluses and similar should have sharper edges. Maybe this is not achievable with this new technology, I don't know...

Second thing is strange halo effect or don't know how to name it. Maybe my video shows it better (and no this effect that you see is not YT compression):

I play VR only (HP Reverb G2) and can't tell is it also present on the monitors, but in my goggles you can see it clearly, especially at dawn and night and around light objects like stars or the moon.

I have to mention these problems because maybe in the next iterations you can handle this as well.

Besides these clouds are super great addition and bring another dimension to the game in a great way! Thank you!

That looks like the night version of the color banding I was seeing during the day. It has to do with how the "surface" of the cloud is being rendered relative to the viewing angle and the light source so you end up seeing the contour layers. It shows up mostly when the sun is low on the horizon.

Traditionally dithering is used to make these artifacts less noticeable. In my case I found that Reshade's deband shader was pretty effective in smoothing these out.

Really!!? A few times some green guys brought me on their 2 engine ship and make some strange medical treatment but I didn't know it's a part of the game... ;)

Ok, so I understand that you can see the same thing, but on the monitor. Sadly Reshade doesn't work in MP servers, where I fly mainly, but thx for the idea anyway.

Yes, they are nicer than vanilla, but not perfect. I'm waiting next version for sure.
