VP Modpack not working...Gets to 60percent

Hi all

Windows 10, AMD cpu, AMD 5700xt..32gb ram...

 

Installed VP modpack on top of Il2 4.12.2m...strictly as per instructions...I hit the il2 selector..again as per instructions, the game fires up..the splash screen gets to 60 percent, then..Pffffffffffft.  The il2 selector is ver 3.1.1a...

 

Just will not go beyond the 60 percent mark when loading...

 

Any clues?

Why not just go for B.A.T mod ,as has all VP mod features and much more ,plus I have never had trouble getting it to work?

My actual preference is for the HSFX patch-alas I had exactly the same problem with that as well...AMD card? Drivers...??  Never had the problem with NVIDIA card...but yeah, could give the BAT a go...cant complain about the price...

After shenanigans got VP Mod to run..probably missed a step somewhere along the line...however, despite setting resolution in conf ini..cant get the game to run at 1080...I get black bars on the sides...any pointers how to rectify this?

To add...rectification found...its all in the conf ini...thanks to a kind chappie on the SAS forum...the following worked for me...
