Linking accounts - #10005: Please update your game. New version available

Hej,

I want to run the game on a shadow pc via steam and by start-up I am getting the famous green popups about linking accounts (or newly bought).

In the follow-up I would link the account with steam, but whatever I do I run into the (obviously famous) "

#10005: Please update your game. New version available

As I run from steam the trick with deleting update folders cannot be applied (there is no such folder for me). Can you give me any suggestion how to proceed? I was running the game on my normal laptop a few days ago, but wanted to migrate it to the shadow. Now I am stuck ..
