Yeah, I have the same bothering, it would bring the immersion to another level.

Hope the developers implement this soon.

The thing I'm curious about is whether there are plans to implement DVD (not campaign system, but still part of the same decal technology)

I really hope it gets implemented soon, especially in RAF/USAAF careers, it drags immersion down to have planes without any tactical codes or markings. Kill markings on aircraft would be even better, but I have no high hopes for this.

Sure, Great Battles is amazing, but it's career mode without the markings... To me it feels like finally getting that long dreamed of Ferrari sports car but hey, then you see they forgot to put on the iconic red paint ? ... So yes, a bit of a horror flick indeed :)

I wouldn't bet on that. I don't see much interest on the developers side to improve the career mode. They are happy with giving us the oportunity to select numbers in the QMB, where it doesn't make any sense, as you can't see the numbers on your own aircraft. But I doubt, they will go the way to implement numbers, letters, or even squadron signs on all aircrafts in career mode.

Use PWCG... you can use apply any skins you have on all your Squadron... yes, each individual aircraft can have any skin you choose, and that will stay with each aircraft in your campaign until the pilot is killed or transferred...

I think they will add it. Why put so much effort into a new feature if you're not going to use it?

it is possible to implement differents skins per squadron and healing per pilot in the player's squadron

Why add a new feature only to MP and QMB if you want to add it to the career mode as well? It was stated earlier by Jason, if I remember correctly, that adding numbers and so on to each aircraft in career mode would be too much effort.

There are some things possible, as mods are showing, and still we don't have them in game. The developers have their own focus, what seems important to them or what they think they can do with a reasonable effort, and when.

Shouldn't be.  They know which planes support it and which do not.  For those planes that support dynamic markings use an unmarked skin and use the markings.

In PWCG I put the flag on the skin instead of the plane - use dynamic markings with this skin.  This allows me to mix in fully marked skins with dynamically marked skins.  Skins associated with planes that do not support dynamic marking will simply have that flag set to false.  If you think about it, very few skins are blank.  If you default to false then you only have to designate a very few skins as accepting dynamic markings.

Once you know whether a plane's skin can take dynamic markings it is not that hard to designate a dynamic marking or not.

I think it was easier for them to make it first for QMB and multiplayer, because players are putting these on their planes manually. For career mode the tactical codes and markings should obviously match with units. It does not sound like a too difficult task to solve this matching, but obviously I don't have any knowledge about the actual code.

Surely the developers will include correct tactical markings in the future, If your going to develop a historically accurate WW1/2 flight simulator you have to include correct markings otherwise it is incomplete

Without correct markings it is a complete immersion killer

Well...we are still flying in wrong formations in career mode and this is something very easy to fix, but still not done. So my hopes for tactical markings are not too high.

EDIT: Because I just saw the other thread, the Hs 129 still has the 30mm gun firing together with the machineguns, after 3 or so years.
