VikingFjord Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 ok, i can teach you about your life in Canada? you agree with that internet teaching, which based on several rumors, films and some TV? or NOT? strange things you write, mister, even no matter what i know about planes of my country, from books and docs of my people here... this reminds me about that Canadian that told me that my grandfather was wrong in everyting he teached me about Spitfire and let me say that was hilarious since he was a flight mechanic specialist on spitfires in the army..he was the guy they went to when they where gonna teach new students and pilots to know the spitfire.. he also had his encounters when i came to many other warbirds i think ppl read to much today..and they pick it up blindly as the "truth" many people dont have the experiance or the facts from real life and it dont blame them..its not easy for most people to get real life encounters with warbirds today.. my best advice is go to airshows..museums even..speak to pilots that really did fly these machines or anyone else that worked closely with these machines for picking up claims and statements on the internett is just not valid information..and for me to learn about Russian planes lately has not been easy..and i would never claim or throw statements out there like i know something becuse most people know less then they really know they do...and many people throw around these technicalitys thats written on a paper or another web documents..and thats just what it is..text on a piece of paper some times the text on a paper dont add up to reality..and people forget that..
FTC_Karaya Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) I also still play both sides, while you sit there and make tired remarks at me for being "one sided" which brings me to question, what side does JG4 side with? I just wanted to point out that he has no affiliation with our squadron. And yes, the Yak-1 we have now is the historically correct one. There was an even "hotter", very rare version of it that was used for point defence, performance was increased by deleting radios, armor and leaving just the ShVAK 20mm cannon on board. Other than that the Series 69 is as good as it gets in 1942 as far as Yakovlevs are concerned! The Yak-1B of 1943 (if or when it comes) will be a tad faster overall but it's not going to be the giant leap that suddenly turns tables around completely. Same will hold true for the Yak-9s (9, 9D, 9T) which performance wise are almost indicernible from the -1B. Good fighters but no world beaters... Edited July 28, 2014 by JG4_Karaya
LLv34_Flanker Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 S! Let's see what the recently released "secret documents" will bring to the table. Antigravitation engines, rail guns? Ilya Ehrenburg edition of BoS?
IVJG4-Knight Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) It is laughable, because the quote was corrected to the fastest of the Russian fighters. So yes, laughable as in you are the prime example of why it's laughable. Don't try to act like you'd accept La-7s against early 1943 109G-2s or 109A-3s. You only act this way because there is no hope for those encounters to happen. I also still play both sides, while you sit there and make tired remarks at me for being "one sided" which brings me to question, what side does JG4 side with? You should stop being so defensive and have fun with this game. And i'm not part of any squadron because i don't have TIR so i would't fight as efficiently as the other members looking around with my mouse. You helped us prove refraction btw .Thanks 4 your p40 pictures ! That should make you happy because like you say you fly both sides. Edited July 31, 2014 by IVJG4-Knight
