AI assisting your head movements

A real pilot can move (not just rotate) his body or/and head few inches in almost every direction to keep his eyes on the tracked target easily avoiding the cockpit bars. But trying the same with keys or hats is a real pain and not really doable in combat.

So, what about a system that displaces automatically your head or body to make sure that cockpit bars don't block your locked on target?

Well, that is the suggestion, and now the why. Planes like Fw190 (of course this is not the only case) were praised not only by its pilots, also by the adversaries trying it, for its great visibility from the cockpit. But in game, its frontal visibility is simply terrible, probably the very worst because of the cockpit bars blocking a huge area of the screen.

One of the common and most helpful devices is - Track IR. With this device you can move your head almost naturally and it is very much
immersive - just my opinion. But it's true!

Sure, and any VR solution would solve the problem as well. But I guess having an ingame option that at least helps the common player would be quite handy as well.

I couldn't imagine flying in any flight sim without my Track IR, been using one since my earliest days with IL-2 '46. I would also consider VR for the same benefits, but I personally can't use VR in it's current state (I get very nauseated, woozy, and headache within minutes the few times I've tried it) though it works quite well for most folks. The 6 DOF of my Track IR is definitely very natural to me once I had my preferences and sensitivity curves setup, it starts with the sim and I never have to mess with it was a setup once and forget about it piece of hardware. Though MSFS still seems to be having some issues with it as they did in the old days they are currently working on it, IL-2 has always had a flawless implementation. There are other options out there in the DIY arena that are cheaper than Track IR, but require a bit more labor to get up and running.

Never cared for the keyboard and hat switch method of looking around so I feel your pain, but an AI assist is probably a bit difficult to produce and I would imagine it would be very low on the devs priority list of things to do even if they did consider putting on the list, especially when there are options like VR and Track IR, etc. easily available these days.
