NavyGuy Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 I am trying to get IL2 FC 1 & 2 configured so I can fly a half way decent mission. I have Track IR Pro attached to my headset. Can someone offer some suggestions as a Profile. I see that some people have the ability to check their Six...any suggestions are greatly appreciated. One more thing. I have a Thrustmaster Warthog & throttle any suggestions on a decent profile and set up suggestions is also greatly appreciated. Thank You
No105_Swoose Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 For FC I highly recommend Requiem's Track IR profile which you should be able to find here: His "How To Fly" tutorials on various FC aircraft are also outstanding. He's a commercial airline pilot and flight instructor IRL. Good luck! Swoose 3
NavyGuy Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 Thank you Sir, I will definitely give it a try. Appreciate the reply.
JGr2/J5_Mueller Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 for the stick, all you need is mixture, radiator, blip switch, altitude throttle that will cover all the planes, if you want set up a trim control for the se5 and bristol, also a button to tilt overwing guns 45 degrees, see you in the skies over the front, Salute!
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 As a kinda new user of head tracking, ive noticed with mine (uses a web cam on the monitor) its important to maintain a somewhat consistent distance from the camera. Get to close or far away, and it has a tendency to behave erratically. Also, if batteries are involved, beware of lowbatteries. They can also cause erratic behavior.

BOO Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 You dont necessarily have to have all those big Vs in the profiles curves. Requiems profile is very good but, like any TIR profile, relies on similarity in positioning which most have but some oddballs like me dont. If you are starting from scratch or dont get on with the profile (most do) for whatever reason, startng a flat line just above 0 with a small notch downards around centre can help you better deterime where and if alterations to the curve are required whilst keeping a small centre forward notch for stablility.. The curve up and down buttons on the GIU can be used to amplify the movement to if you feel that its generally too fast or slow. Form there you can start to adjust the curve to fine tune things to you if needed. The biggest PITA for me with TIR was positioning the camera. I dont use a desk and all my gear is fitted to a frame. The TV i use is just too far way for the camera. I found using a decent clamp gooseneck arm designed for holding mobile phones was an ideal solution for me. Its attatched to one of the risers on the frame. The one below is what i use. Its rock solid and able to hold the TIR camera without inteferring with the view of IR lights if required. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07PHWHG8V/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=aa453f96dcb5917c180f4f19f4b7c5cf&hsa_cr_id=9242687430802&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=5735eeb0-5b43-4a88-80d3-5b5241bbfc46&pd_rd_w=HRNJ1&pd_rd_wg=zE8Pm&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_mcd_asin_2_img You can assign snap views to look over your left and right shoulders in addition to using the Track IR. THere are guides and turorials on snap views in here. You can also tune the snap views for each aircrat to have a well lined up sighting picture throug the rings. Turn down you camera movement speeds before setting up and sighting snap views to save a lot of messing about. Given your interest is WW1 you should have a few spare buttons for that function. A left/right/forward set up on a hat switch for instance. 1
