Diggun Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 So, you can do this by just grabbing a font that supports Cyrillic (there's a bunch available via a swift google, or check out the Il2 Great Skinner's Discord channel for loads of super helpful skinning resources. Then I'd stick your phrase into google translate - For Stalin! comes out as За Сталина! You can then just copy & paste that into the text addition tool of your preferred skin editing software, and Bob's yer mothers brother. I then generally check these with a glamourous Russian friend of mine, but that's more because she's very attractive. A rough translation should be good enough for you apes! 1
Na-zdorovie Posted November 30, 2021 Author Posted November 30, 2021 ah thanks Diggun, while on my way through Cambridge on way up north, at the weekend ill need to check with the "Glamorous Russian friend lol 1

ronick Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 instead of that pretty pathetic factory painted cult of personality derived "За Сталина" i would use "За Родину!" or other historical like Бей фашистов! [bey fashistov] kill fascists! Смерть фашистам! [smert fashistam] death to fascists! Беспощадный [besposhyadniy] ruthless Смелый [smeliy] fearless Боевая подруга [boyevaya podruga] combat girlfriend На Берлин [na berlin] to Berlin Мститель [mstitel] avenger на здоровье! [na zdorovie] do not mention it? 1
Na-zdorovie Posted November 30, 2021 Author Posted November 30, 2021 (edited) @ronick, i got that pretty pathetic quote from the said documentary on tv last night, it was at Kursk, then at Prokhorovk @Eeafanas, thanks for the links and pics Edited November 30, 2021 by Na-zdorovie
Frinik22 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Put " Fuer Stalin und Vaterland on your T34 and see what happens?
Frinik22 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) Saying that life improved under Stalin is like praising Hitler for solving unemployment in Germany and building autobahn( They were actually started by the Weimar Republic). The same Stalin who was responsible for the starvation deaths of millions of Ukrainians in the Soviet-made famine of the Holodomor? The same one who started mass and forced collectivization of Soviet agriculture leading to perpetual shortages of staple food and under average crops for the duration of Soviet rule turning the famous Russian breadbasket into the number one importer of wheat from the US, Canada and Argentina? His forced industrialisation resulted in massive pollution of rivers, destruction of the environment and the massive use of slave labour from the Gulags to build many of the steel and cement plants, dam , power plants etc . An estimated 23 million people passed through his gulags during his infamous 24 years dictatorship. Benevolent Stalin indeed. The reason the USSR collapsed economically in 1990 can be traced back to his disastrous economic policies which he created and his successors held on to the bitter end with the exception of Gorbachev who tried belatedly to change course. Hitler crashed course his Reich into a war it could not win. Stalin simply ensured his legacy was not sustainable. Edited December 1, 2021 by Frinik22
