Circling a way point

How many times around a way point does one abandon the flight and go home? Is there a limit?

Patrol waypoints will tell you when it's time to leave. There is no set number or orbits.

But did you hold your formation position all 87 1/2 orbits? If not, that is why.

Edit: it's a joke kb .

What? .........O.K.

Well, the last time, I did, gave up after 30 times around.

What being in formation has to do with it is beyond me, A guy is going to wander a bit.........no? Or at least get bored?

Going to say it again: track files and mission files will go a long ways towards fixing this sort of thing. Just complaining and using hyperbole isn't going to advance things towards a successful resolution. :)

I’ll take “things that never happened” for 100, Alex.

I'm afraid you'd loose that one ..........

Calling someone you don't know a 'liar' is frowned upon where I'm from........?

I thought I gave the information needed but was mistaken. As soon as I figure out how to find it, and get it to you I will. Just was wondering at what point in the flight, one gives up. Until I get things figured out, I won't report anything.........

Which mission or campaign was this, perhaps others are having the same problem, if you can be a little more specific someone may be able to help.

Funny, those small cultural differences.  Where I'm from, complaining about each and every teensy nuisance without the slightest bit of constructive criticism is frowned upon.

It is also frowned upon when people don't read the OP's posts and then make assumptions as to what his motive is by reading others replys only. If you read KB's actual posts you will find no complaint. There is a question, then then a response to a comment made, a response to a joke and then a reply to BSR"s completely uncalled for arsehole remark calling KB a liar. Sorry for the mostly unhelpful responses made here.  KB, it is best to post the files, track & mission files, here with a suspected problem as LukeFF suggested . Then 1C and others can test and hopefully give helpful feedback. Cheers!

BladeMeister, I can understand it may seem to you that way. However, I'm not basing my post on this thread alone, but rather a long list of similar threads by the OP. Knarley-Bob has a habit of posting at least once a week about some minor bug in the game. Usually in the form of a simple question that seems innocent enough ("how many times do I need to circle a waypoint") but then is shortly after revealed to be a thinly veiled complaint ("the objective doesn't update and I need to keep circling"), although often it starts with the complaint right away as well. LukeFF and others have said many times that if he wants to address those issues, he should give more info (mission files, track recordings, etc.) so that the devs are at all able to look into these issues. However he has yet to do so.

Of course, everyone is free to post his opinions and to share what are possible bugs. However It'd be great if that'd happen in a constructive manner instead of just keeping to post these small sneers at the game without any of the information that the devs could use to improve it, even though that has been requested many times.

Again, its not this post that so annoys me. It's the ongoing smear campaign by the OP.

Got it. I don't really keep an eye on who makes what complaints and who might be trolling the complaints with baited posts. I just caught this one in passing and it seemed to be going south a bit. I did not know the history of said OP.

Again, I apologize for not knowing how to get the information requested. I will say no more.

It's the _gen.mis file in the /data/missions folder. It's overwritten every time a new career or quick mission is generated, so exit the game and save a copy of it before generating another mission.

At which point K-B, someone can look at the generated mission file and figure out what logic is either missing or set incorrectly.

I've done this a handful of times and the problem (once you untangle the birds-nest of generated logic) is always readily apparent.

That's frankly of no use to anyone, but OK.

If on the other hand you'd take the time to complete the very easy task of posting the mission as Luke mentioned, the problem itself might be solved more quickly not only for you, but others as well. If you post it, I will take the time to look at it and report to the Devs what I find.
