No.23_Starling Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Anyone know how to read ww1 propeller markings? Any subject matter experts here?
dixieflyer Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 How to read them? Or are you looking for a guide to the markings of the different manufacturers? Warren

Warren Im trying to work out what planes they might have been fitted to. There’s this one on eBay right now: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-WW1-Era-Propeller-/174944957435?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 Markings are: DG 76 DG 2 45 P1 76 H HP 80 RN R HP Im guessing this might have been for an 80hp RNAS trainer like the Farman? This is 8ft so fits the profile of Hagar’s link. There’s also this Ebora prop - again I’m interested to have a punt on what it was fitted to https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REDUCED-Antique-WW1-World-War-One-Ebora-Wooden-Propeller-/224706509732?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 1

I thought the first one is probably from a MF Shorthorn or Longhorn trainer. Did you have any idea on the second one linked at the bottom (Ebora prop)?
