TheIL-2Thunder Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 (edited) Hello, since there are good sales, i would like to buy Tank Crew, but i also want to fly some good planes. Is possible to buy Tank Crew and then only just some collector planes without actually buying a complete package like BoM or BoB, to be able to fly those planes in Multiplayer servers? Thank you. =621=Samikatz Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Yes, as long as those aircraft are available to pick from a spawnpoint you would be able to fly them
Jaws2002 Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 What Package do you have? With the prices today, you can get a lot more with packages than buying single collector planes. The older packages, like BOM, BOK, BOS are very affordable with this sale. 12 USD get's you premium BOS with 10 planes. Unless you want to get newer releases, you can get few older packages for the price of newer collector planes. 1

Apart from tank crew, which is not my cup of tea, I suggest that now within the sale you start with BoS Premium and go from there for air battles. If you like it, the sky is the limit. It is probably a good idea to pick up a module - you get 8 aircraft, a terrain, and a campaign for $7.49 with Battle of Stalingrad (compared to two collector planes for the same price). So picking up a couple of modules is a good idea. P.S. You might also want to consider Flying Circus if you want to try something completely different. The WWI airplanes are an entirely different thing to learn how to use. 2
Enceladus828 Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 You should also get IL-2 Cliffs of Dover Blitz Edition + Desert Wings-Tobruk as those games have areas and many aircraft -- Tobruk has over 40+ aircraft/variants, not including tropical versions -- which are not in IL-2 GBs (mostly) and have the same quality as GBs; there is also a vast amount of ships such as Battleships, cruisers, destroyers, torpedo boats and many supply/merchant ships which you can torpedo with torpedo bombers, many scripted campaigns, etc, etc. Right now the Blitz and Tobruk bundle costs $47.74 CDN. Hope this helps. 1 1 1

TheIL-2Thunder Posted November 28, 2021 Author Posted November 28, 2021 (edited) Because i saw one video on Youtube where was said that in Multiplayer even if you don't have bought a certain map, you'll be able to play but without the planes or tanks that are part of the package. But i also heard something that most of times the servers add planes that comes with another package. The most interesting and cheapest package right now, seems to be the Battle of Bodenplatte and plus the collector MC.202 Series VIII for 2.64 EUR seems to be the best choice for me. But what i'm asking is if i will be able to play enough in Multiplayer with this configuration. To the base of all i have Tank Crew. Money is money, even if the packages are discounted and i really don't want to buy too much. Edited November 28, 2021 by TheIL-2Thunder
Quax Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I would go for Stalingrad. Most servers have at least a few of that planeset on the map. IMO this are the essential planes of the war. Bodenplatte are late war planes, and there are maps without them. 1

The MC.202 is a bit of an acquired taste - in some ways it is superior to contemporary German fighters, but expect it to be outmatched towards the end of the war, and also practice turns (as it has a bit of an abrupt tendency to spin). Charming enough though. I'd recommend getting an Eastern module at some point - Battle of Stalingrad is less than 7 Euros when on sale. I'd also recommend getting the U-2VS biplane collector aircraft if you aren't getting Flying Circus - it is nice to have the experience of flying low and slow. If you are switching from Bodenplatte to an earlier war scenario - try flying only the early war scenario for several sessions in a row - otherwise the aircraft will feel slow and underpowered But they are worth it - the experience is quite different (especially some of the Battle of Moscow Aircraft). 1
