Tank Crew map area?

Is there a map I can download to see what area covers the Tank Crew map? Also, can be used with my planes?

IL-2 Sturmovik: Tank Crew – Clash at Prokhorovka, has a tank specific portion (more ground detail) of the map. Yes, planes can be used on it.

 

Tanks and planes can be used on ALL of the maps included with the game.

I don't think there's an official map, but I could be wrong. I would start up the game, select the map you want to use, and take a screenshot. There's a folder in the IL2 directory called, you guessed it, Screenshots   Print the map from there.

All the maps in il2 can be used with tanks. However the there is a specific highly detailed map for Tankers. Apparently if you play aircraft on this map you will experience a performance drop because of the amount of detail on the map. The map is called Prokhorovka and pretty much the highly detailed bit is this I think, between the purple lines. The map is 20 times as big as this but I think the purple box bit I have shown is the tank bit?? You can see the town of Prokhorovka here where the famous tank battle of the same name took place and of course this is the namesake of the Prokhorovka map. The battle was part of the larger battle of Kursk iirc.

 

 

 

Here is part of the Larger map. The purple box is what I have shown above. The map goes all the way down to grid squares with 0100 shown here to 1100 on them.

Is there any way you can buy other maps from other IL2 games, say Kuban, Stalingrad, Bodenplatte, Normandy , Leningrad etc without buying the whole games? I's love to play some of the SP missions made for these maps but not at the cost of paying $ 60 or 70 each for the privilege especially since I don't play and have no interest in air sims. It's probably a negative answer  but still feel I should ask.

nope ur right, thereis a sale on now, and to be fair its silly prices for what you get, tons of stuff for the money, and who knows you may get into air stuff

I don't have any other maps, but from what I see posted by others that have tried them with tanks, you may have difficulty with running into invisible objects that will destroy your tank. The current prices for the older titles make it worth a try, but those probably have more of these "invisible minefields" than the later, more expensive titles.

Yep, but you'll find some maps like Vluki very good for tanking. Also i made some stuff for Rheinland with tanks as player.

Some ships are indestructible, others blow up nicely ... and running the GAZ truck there is also jolly good sports.
