Spitfire Mk. IX Questions

I have a few questions regarding the Spit IX.

 

1. Is there any drawback to taking the clipped wings?

 

2. What is the ideal convergence setting for the Hispano cannons? Does adjusting the gunsight settings have any effect at all?

 

3. The engine is rated for up to 60 minutes of combat power. If my mission will take fewer than 60 minutes, can I run combat power the whole time?

 

4. Are the .50 cal machine guns the same as the ones on the P-51 and P-47?

2. 230 meters. Adjusting the gunsight let's you know when you are at the optimal firing range.

Optional If you need it: A little tutorial, here for the Spitifire V, for the gunsight adjustment ( in French ).
The gunsight is to be set in yards (shooting distance) and feet (bandit's wingspan).
