Hi, is there anyone who has experience with this headset and 1080Ti ? I kinda feel like buying a new toy but i am not sure my GPU is good enaugh, so I would like to hear from someone with personal experience.

Thank you

I'm still using my trusty 1080ti with a amd 5600x cpu and a g2 and its definitely playable although you will have to tone down some of the ingame graphics settings. Try looking at fenris_wolfs guide especially the fholger mod it definitely helped me.

Also keep in mind with some of the higher resolution headsets like the Reverb G2, there is nothing says you have to adjust the game to allow you to run at 100% resolution. You can always run lower resolution to suit your needs. And maybe grow into it as you upgrade.

Thank you guys. I am glad to hear it will work. But now I realize, that I probably should have mentioned that I have RIft S already }which is working well with my GPU).  So the question should have been will the new Reverb work with some meaningful visual upgrade ? Or will I just have to scale down everzthing and in the end it will be the same as Rft S ?

The Reverb will be a very large upgrade from the Rift S. I ran a 1080Ti with a G2 for a bit. I just downscaled the G2 to 50% maybe it was. It still blows the Rift S out of the water at those resolutions. You can then scale up when you get a new GPU in the future.

I started with Rift S two years ago and I was one of the early preorders for the Reverb G2. Mine arrived in November 2020, about the same time as my 2080Ti. Okay, so initially I was very disappointed with the Reverb G2 -- it was a hot (literally) mess with BoS and pretty much all flight sims. It came out of the box a few times but overall it frustrated me that I couldn't get the motion smoothness of the Rift S.

The new OpenXR runtimes seem to have changed that though. I've scaled down my settings (clarity is still better than in Rift S) and installed the open_fsr mod, and honestly I think I'm getting better frames now than I ever did with my Rift S. I've settled on 60% resolution per eye in Steam VR. In the game settings I use Ultra quality, medium shadows, 2x land detail, 80 fps target and 100% UI Scale. However, I also have my game resolution set to 1152x864.

This video really helped me, and he gives settings for the 1080s:
