Warthog controls not working

Hey there, Warthog Hotas owner here.

X/Y Joystick axis, Throttle axis on right throttle, Saitek pedals and breaks on them, flaps on one pov hat, zoom on another, trim on yet one more - all work. But engine controls such as mixture, radiators, rpm, prop pitch - none do if assigned to either axis or pov hat. Why is that?

Il2BoX is the only app i have that is having these issues. Not using any TM software like target here. Does IL2 not support more than a few axis by design?

It sounds like you are flying with the engine assist options turned on. When those are turned on, the system controls them for you.

So, turns out there were two problems!

First I had to delete devices.txt and redefine all controls.

Second is that even if you turn off the engine/radiator/rpm automatic control during the mission (talking about game control, not something like what p51 has), newly assigned joystick controls will still not work, but default keyboard commands will. This means that in order for engine/rad/rpm manual controls to work, the assists should be always off in settings. This seems to me, to be a bug. What's the point of assist on/off controls then? And why does it happen only with joystick controls? Weird.
