Bossco82 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 OK so I am testing out a LG 1440p monitor, its has freesync and you can select a refresh rate of 60hz or 75hz. It hooked up to a 6800xt. I have freesync off, on the display and in Radeon settings Windows VRR off in display graphics settings V-sync on in I-L2 with full screen set to on. My other games DCS, Sniper Elite and Battlefield etc, run at 60fps synchronised to the monitor just fine. However I-L2 still runs at 75fps. Can anyone suggest why this might be happening. I get quite a few stutters and sudden minor pauses. Plus, my Track IR does not look as smooth. Is it common for a game like I-L2 to ignore the refresh rate set in Windows and run at the monitors maximum, 75hz? I have never come across this before.

Did you go into the game settings and change it to 60 hz?
Bossco82 Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 You know what mate, I just noticed that I posted this in Desert Wings and meant to post it in Great Battles the latest Sturmovik. Sorry to the moderators, note to self dont post on the forums when your tired! I have the target fps option that I can set to 60fps. Then I get a stutter festival! I also play DCS and that is butter smooth at 60hz/fps. So I know its not my hardware. For some reason Sturmovik runs at the maximum refresh rate of the monitor which is 75hz. I have 60hz selected in Windows and confirmed in the display spec page in Radeon. There is no option in the game I am aware of to select 60hz. My previous monitor ran fine but that was a fixed 60hz one. Everything is free/adaptive sync nowadays. 1
