Where's the support?

I have been downloading the game client through the installer (nearly 35 gigs of data) for the last 18 hours, and it's still got 12 gigs to go. My download rate is anywhere between 7kB/s and 35kB/s with a maximum of around 50kB/s.

I've done all the usual checks: Firewall settings, router, modem, called my ISP ran Speedtest,  etc. etc. and everything on my end is fine. I can simultaneously download a game from GOG, several gigs worth, in fact, and all those downloads completed within minutes.

 

On top of the slow download speed, when I submitted a trouble ticket through the support link, the response I received was an offer for 25,000 rubles if I answered some questions.

 

Spam. The support I received was spam.

 

I'm not usually one to complain, but what in the actual hell?! This is what my money bought? Two days of waiting for an install, and a canned spam response to my problems? (On top of it all, the spam was sent to me in Russian, in spite of the ticket being submitted in English)

Clarification

I'm going to try simply copying over the game folder from my old PC to the one I just bought and see what happens. Transferring the files will take 2 hours according to the OS, but being that I've been trying to download the game for nearly 20, it doesn't seem like such a long time to wait.

 

Meanwhile, a response from someone at 1C would be appreciated. When I installed IL-2 on my old computer, it didn't take more than an hour or two--twenty is just insane.

Slow downloads have been mentioned before. I've never experienced that. Some say restarting the download few times or restarting your router can help but others say there is no effect.

 

But you can indeed copy the game folder from old computer to the new one. The game will work that way just fine.

Thank you for responding. I was able to get the game copied over and indeed it does work just fine. I still needed to run the installer afterwards, but it only took a few minutes and I was back flying again without any problems. It's good that the game can be copied that way, because restarting the download and my router/modem did nothing to correct the slow speeds. It was definitely on 1C's end, because Speedtest showed my download speed around 80Mbps--far faster than the sub-20Kbps I was getting in the download.
