ICDP Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I love how Nvidia only ever do things like this when they are forced. Nvidia never do something that benefits the community unless it impact their bottom line. In short, AMD's FSR has been a success and Nvidia can't be seen to have less "features". Or even worse, relying on a feature done by AMD. It's like their GSync monitors and how AMD's Freesync beat them due to lower cost and doing almost, or just as good (sometimes better) for less money. Ironically this impacts their DLSS because now people will be thinking there's less reason to upgrade to their latest GPUs. Remember DLSS is a 20x0/30x0 only thing. 2
PA_Willy Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Anyone has tested with our sim and new drivers?
NiiranenVR Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 As i understand it's not for VR ?♂️?♂️
radiantglow Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 I tried the new file fsholger released on GitHub today that enables you to use Nvidias NIS and it worked great, better FPS and imo better graphic fidelity than FSR provided! Link to the new openvr-fsr: https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr/releases/tag/fsr_v2.0 1
Blue_Bear Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 (edited) I am using the Reverb G2. I tried FSR and NIR and could not see any significant gain compared to SteamVR scaling. (CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, GPU: RTX 3090, ...) Edited November 21, 2021 by Blue_Bear
ACG_Bussard Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Hi Guys, stumpled over that new feature in the current driver too and being now a bit confused. The old driver settings with 2 sliders for "sharpening" and "reduce film grain" are gone and replaced by "image scaling" setting. Did someone test the new settings with our sim and can give advise for monitor user´s, which settings ingame and in the new driver are the way to go?
