BlitzPig_EL Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Normally I host for the BlitzPigs, and we fly with ourselves against the AI mostly these days. We're all a lot older now, unlike the old days when we were online against all comers almost every night in the old IL2. So last night my friend Flyfish and I flew for a bit on Flying Circus Flugpark 1. We were up in D VIIs. Been a long time since I was up in full real. It was refreshing, if very difficult. Anyway Flyfish got bagged by some Camels that were outstanding in their accuracy and BnZ tactics. So I was alone when I spotted a dark shape at my altitude and close by. The shape of the wings made it clear it was British. At first I thought it was a Dolphin because of the angle, but then the rear gunner opened up! A Bristol... I have to admit I shuddered a bit at the thought as going up against the AI in Bristols can be a bit... sporty. Whomever was piloting that thing was a good stick. I lost contact several times during our dance, but I was in a DVII after all, and I eventually locked on to his six, nullified his gunner, and picked his mount apart at close range. I was able to fly home and land as well. I know this seems like old hat to most of you that are in the WW1 birds a lot, but for me it really was gratifying. It also pointed out how out of practice I am, but that's an issue that can be dealt with. Thanks to whoever was in the Bristol for a good fight. S! 8 6
PaulTheSalty Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Welcome back! That satisfaction from a well fought fight is a hard to scratch itch. I hope to meet you in the skies with a Bristol of my own!
US103_Baer Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Good job. MP is a rush for sure. Drop by on Thursday night. Usually a good crowd for the European and US evenings.
J2_Seya Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Nice to see you had a great time. Hopefully we will see you guys more often
