Spotting "error" or what I doing wrongly?

Hi everyone!

My problem is:

My spotting is good, but my mate can see the planes in the far, much earlier.
Example:
11 clock, enemy plane far: I checking it. Nothing. We are closing in, then on the exact spot the enemy plane suddenly "pop in/comes out"

What is wrong? Options?

My monitor:
AOC 24G2U5 Monitor
GPU:
GTX 1060

Settings:

Same.
Before I wrote this post, I tested his settings.

If you’re both using the same settings then it’s not a settings issue. Maybe he just sees it and you don’t. The background or lighting could be different etc. Spotting is rather a skill too. Sometimes I’ll replay MP tracks with the icons on and look for the aircraft I didn’t see. They were plainly visible and I just missed them. So it suggests on how to change my scan pattern or habits.

I also found that gamma settings can make a huge difference for me in spotting. Sometimes 'putting on sunglasses' (reducing gamma) helps me quite a bit.

Perhaps he has a higher resolution monitor?

Your gamma is pretty high. Try lowering it to 0.7 or 0.8. That tends to work better for me, but this can also vary depending on your monitor brightness and contrast settings. Best way to tweak this is to record a quick combat track against a flight of AI and keep adjusting things.
