Clouds variant at AQMG

Does anyone knows what it means?What is the difference between variant 2 and 4?
I made a mission with overcast and clouds 4 and it was a blue sky with rain.

There are five different types of weather, each with ten presets. If you open up the mission editor, you can see what they are. 
 

This is in game =  This is ME

Clear        =      Clear

Cloudy     =      Light

Average   =      Medium

Heavy      =      Heavy

Overcast  =     Overcast

So the difference between xxtype00 and xxtype05 are different kind of clouds?
And the light, medium etc is the density?

  Yes,  if you open up the mission editor ( located in your IL2/bin/game file )

you can see these types
