Beebop Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 (edited) In Dev Diary 288 were were shown pictures of Chain Home Radar units. However in the release notes for updates I was unable to find any mention that they were added to the game. Imagine my surprise when I found them! But it's where I found them that puzzles me. We have Allied truck radar units (scr584) and the German Wursburg radar (fuse 65) in the Artillery (?) menu. As "Artillery" they have a damage/destruction model although the durability value is hard coded but they can be destroyed. But the Chain Home Transmitter and Receiving antennas (rad_gbchainhome_tx/rad_gbchainhome_rx) and the German Mammut (rad_germanmut) radars are in the 'Blocks' menu and they have no destruction model! Why not? They were legitimate targets for both sides and IMO should be destructible. Are they there just as eye candy because the time frame for the Normandy map is post D-Day and at least Chain Home was no a target for the Germans by then? If so why bother? Flying to and from target at 10,000 feet you would hardly, if at all, notice them. You know mission makers will be making Battle of Britain scenarios once BoN is released. Does it take that much time to make them destructible? Bf-110 pilots could have a field day attacking them. Spitty and Hurri pilots could have a field day defending them. Of course these aren't the only objects that have no destruction model which can be quite frustrating at times for the mission builder. I know it is what it is but I am hoping that by the release of BoN the Dev's give a destruction model to these units. (steps down from soapbox) I AM AN IDIOT! I forgot to set the Durability! ? What a Maroon! At 25000, the default, they are made of Impervium. Lower the value and they burn and twist and do all the things one would expect. What fooled me was I could not 'pre-destroy' them using the Damage box in the objects Properties dialog. Just goes to show that no matter how smart you think you are.....you're not. Those that think otherwise are deluded. (i deluded myself....again...) Edited November 10, 2021 by Beebop 2
IckyATLAS Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 You are not alone, we are at least two idiots. ?

When you are young you know everything, when and if you grow old and wise you come to know that the real meaning of wisdom is knowing how little you truly know.
