vr fps unplayable

hey guys, im just a bit bummed that this title on vr went from the best game ive ever played to the point where im about to uninstall it. how does this happen? anyway, ever since there was an update on bullet tracers my performance just went downhill. i had a solid 80fps on balanced now im lucky to be at 50 fps at the most lowest possible settings. this game is porked for me. 1c u guys were my hero. i feel so let down. i dont have the most powerful rig but it handles dcs pretty well as well as other sims at solid.

in theory i should be able to maintain 80 fps at least in lowest possible settings.

Perhaps something got corrupted during the update. Maybe try doing a reinstall.

I too would say there is something wrong with your setup or the install.

 

For reference, I'm running a Ryzen 3800x, 1080ti, reverb G2 with near maxed out game settings and I never experience performance issues like you're reporting.

for guys with the latest available high-end hardware. You should read the forum, mate.

With your current rig, there should not be a problem to run IL2 GB smooth and very decent. You might check any mods
you are using and maybe your installation got porked after the last update?

you guys may be right. im going to try reinstalling the game and start from scratch.

What is the best confirmed mod to increase fps performance on vr? Is it still currently AMD FSR? or opencomposite?

Did you have Openvr_fsr before? If yes, then dll file was overwritten by game update. Just overwrite it with mod again.

I sure did and it's running solid 80 only drops when I'm flying over a small town. Funny thing is I still see micro stutter even if my fps says 80. That's weird. 

 

Also I'm confused.  I'm playing the stand alone version. I do have the steam version too but not installed.  

 

Is steamVR suppose to run my vr headset even though I'm playing on stand alone version?  I have AMD fsr installed and it works. But still micro stutters when I look down to the ground. Only time I get 100 Smooth visuals is when I'm 1v1 against ai in winter settings. 

 

Where do you guys have your screen resolution set to? Lowest?

Did you try to disable the HUD?

(Should be "h" hey by default)

It helps me a lot to avoid micro stutters.

And since two update ago, every time I look to the map I have to press it twice to avoid them.

Exactly.  It's a loading issue. Could this mean upgrading RAM will solve this? I have 16gb of RAM currently.  I wonder if anyone with 32 or 64 are experiencing this issue.

Oh yes I always disable hud but I sometimes turn on the markers to locate friendly and enemy aircraft.

i am happy to report that i have been experiencing amazing performance at solid 80 and no stutter or jitters on my rift s. so smooth even up to x4 h11 bombers and x2 escorts plus my squad x4.  i did something on my oculus settings and set from "quality" to "performance" and i cannot convey how happy i am. it really worked. never read about it anywhere just saw it and said, wth. i honestly get like 2 maybe 3 briefs stutters on a 20 min mission on quick mission. im on balanced settings. looks good. could be better but im happy. 

 

this game is delicate when it comes to updates. im sure next update my luck will run dry.
