Jarhead0331 Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 (edited) So what on earth is the trick for getting rudder pedals set up? I've tried mapping my MFG Crosswinds to yaw axis, yaw trim axis, yaw trim axis left and right and combinations of all or none of the above and although I'm able to set the setting from the key mapper, in flight, I get nothing from the pedals. Seriously frustrated with this and totally at a loss. What gives???? Edited November 6, 2021 by Jarhead0331

Remontti Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 You have calibrated your MFG and they are working ok in windows? Check devices.txt in data/input/ folder. Is your MFG listed in that file? If it is then atleast your pedals are detected by the game.
Beazil Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 (edited) If it shows in control panel and in game you can map it, then I'm not sure why the issue is. If you can't map it then that's a bigger deal. It would be very strange to be able to map in game and get no response as you described. Do you get full range of motion in control panel? I would check difficulty options if mapping is ok but it doesn't work when flying. I'm not sure but there might be some auto rudder setting for folks playing without pedals.
SYN_Mugue Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 (edited) Do you have more than 8 controllers plugged into your pc? Or for some very low hanging fruit...When you're mapping are you making sure to fully deflect the controller in both right and left? On some of my controllers I've had to keep wiggling them for a few seconds for it to be recognized. Good luck. Edited November 7, 2021 by SYN_Mugue

I have the winwing super Taurus and libra, winwing combat ready and take off panels, three cougar mfds, tek creations ufc, an arduino button box, a stream deck, and at least two mice and a keyboard. What is the significance of 8 devices? just to be clear, I am able to map the rudder in the settings from the in game key mapper, so the pedals are definitely detected, but when I go in flight, they do not work. I've wanted for a while now to create a flow chart for assessing controller problems, but I've never got around to it. I'm not sure I have the technical know how to do it anyhow (e.g. the idea of more than 8 controllers always blows my mind, so I never consider it could be the problem even after seeing it pointed out many times), but these questions come up with such frequency that it seems like a logical thing to do.

Jarhead0331 Posted November 9, 2021 Author Posted November 9, 2021 It is not realism settings so I can only presume it has to do with having more than 8 devices plugged in. I will try the fix suggested by Sid above.
