Trouble with view

Sorry, feel like a newbie dummy but -

today I got my Rx lenses for my G2 and after not playing for a couple of weeks jumped into a quick mission with my usual SE5a. 
Without having made any settings changes my view was just outside the cockpit to the right and up. F5 did nothing (except padlock to a bunch of WW2 trucks diving around). Went to non- vr and same thing. Head movement keys did nothing systematic with view swings that reverted after key let up. Clearly I’m missing something but need help.

Go to /data/luascripts/snapviews/defaults and copy the se5a file from there into the snapviews folder.

Thanks I’ll try that. But I tried a couple other planes with the Same bad position.

Move your head to where it should be, then press F10 to set it as the default position. Then press numpad 5 to reset your head to that position.

Does it help that the first time there was someone sitting in my seat?

I use F12 (default setting)for my G2 view position and direction.

Nope, that happens if you move too far away, then the pilot model shows up.

 

What happens if you follow up my instructions? Where does it fail?
