How do I ( or should I) do a completely fresh install of CloD and afterwards DWT?

In another thread I have posted that I am unable for one reason or another to get third party campaigns work any more, even when placed correctly in the 1C SoftClub folder in Documents.Its as if there is a disconnect between this folder & the Steam folder now located in my E: drive where stock campaigns are located ( although Single Missions do work and they are located Documents folder. So I’m not at all sure waht’s going on.I’ve done a Steam uninstall & reinstall which seems to only effect the Steam/…..CloD Blitz folder,and still no third party campaigns show up in game.

  Now I’m thinking about doing a complete manual uninstall ( saving essential folders ,like skins, single missions,input etc., any others???) & then reinstalling through Steam,BUT I’m not at all sure this will reinstall the CloD folder in Documents .I could of course rename this folder and save it just in case, but because it might contain the problem ,re-using it might just get me back to square one.

I bought CloD years ago at the very beginning before Steam was involved & probably bought it through the IC store ( not sure…) so do I got back there to find a virgin install ,or bite the bullet & buy another Clod download to replace what I have now.

Honestly I’m open for suggestions -I’ve tried everything it seems and nothing seems to work.I don’t mind losing the progress on the various campaigns but really do mind losing them all & being limited to those stock ones we now have.

Rename the folder in Documents, when you restart the game it should be regenerated

Rename which folder ? Campaigns? Custom ? Il-2 Clod ? To what? I have a feeling you mean change the Il-2 Clod in Documents to match the one in Steam,exactly, by adding "Blitz " to it...right?

Renane "1C SoftClub" folder in Documents and start the game, the game will recreate the folder so you can see if the problem was there

I put an "-" in front of the 1C Softclub folder title& started the game, which loaded as usual.Exited game & checked :no new folder was created..now what?

Hello Blitzen

 

Did you read the 'Getting Started and Troubleshooting Guide' in the 'manuals' folder in your main CLIFFS OF DOVER install folder?  (German translation there too)

 

You should not be using the old CLIFFS OF DOVER original game... it should be uninstalled.

 

In STEAM you should have both games listed... CLIFFS OF DOVER and CLIFFS OF DOVER - BLITZ.... only BLITZ should be installed.

I uninstalled both CloD & Blitz last night & reinstalled through Steam with the 1C Softclub folder disabled. Nothing at all re-appeared in my Documents/ folder. Whether I activate the 1C Softclub folder or not it seems to make no difference.Its as if it doesn't exist or isn't linked to the Steam Blitz install.

Yes the game - the basic game ( Blitz DWT,) with SM's works & for years so did the third party campaigns .

No longer- no matter where they are placed. I'd be delighted to do this on one thread, but I'm having no luck solving this anywhere I will check on the manual however.Buzzsaw if you can ,please move it to technical
