symbibot Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 (edited) I've successfully played Il-2 for 3 days since I bought it, but suddenly it just stopped working. It just freezes at loading screen (I still can hear the loading sounds) but the game never fully loading... (probably it just died after last patch) My rig - i9-10900K CPU, 32.0 GB Ram, Geforce 3080, Windows 10 Home (OS Build 19043.1320) What I already tried - disable max background apps, disable firewall, flush all temp folders, reinstall the game, move to another drive (to m2 from hdd), delete user configs in Il2 folder, update GPU driver, reinstall all redistributables - still no luck Steam file integrity check was done about 10-15 times (every time it downloading 1-2 small files 60-120kb, accordingly to google search it's just a steam bug with IL2) And yes I tried to launch the game from Il-2.exe without steam and all compatibility/admin options Edited November 2, 2021 by symbibot
symbibot Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 (edited) never mind Edited November 4, 2021 by symbibot
symbibot Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 If so, why I can't start it directly from Il2.exe in the game directory ? It freezes exactly the same way.
symbibot Posted November 4, 2021 Author Posted November 4, 2021 So after some last manipulations I somehow managed to fix it! After email conversations with the support team, who pointed at KERNELBASE.dll (thank you support team and Olga!) which is apparently somehow was modified due to some windows/soft upgrades ?! I started to google how to fix it and I applied some registry cleaner fixes and admin command prompt commands - Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth sfc /scannow Last command did fixed something, so I restarted my pc, reinstalled Il2 one more time and it's back to life again!!! I don't now exactly if it was leftovers of freetrack i've cleaned in registry or kernelbase fixing commands but IT WORKS NOW!!!
