Career, plane changed automatically

Hey, noob here, I've only been playing a couple of days. I'm having an issue in career mode (battle of kuban), the squadron I'm in has access to the yak 1 series 69 and series 127. I started out using the 127 by preference, however the last two missions it has put me in the 69, and I can't figure out how to change back to the 127.

 

Anyone struck this before, or know a workaround?

I think you will find that when playing careers , when selecting a Russian squadron this squadron is equipped with various types of fighters, so this is random [one mission you will fly one type and the next mission a different type, if you what to fly only a single fighter type uncheck all the other unwanted fighters in the dropdown at left of screen this will then show only the squadrons operating the type you wish to fly. Start the career as the commander.

Back in the ROF career I wanted to be able to keep plane I was flying when the new type was introduced.

Like some Aces (Baumer..) who kept flying in Dr1. Unfortunately it was not possible and I dont think it will be in new FC career.
