CL2 is tough again! Thank you!

Salute friends! Just a note about my first MP fights with the CL2 with the revised DM. She’s so much tougher now, and fights are really fun! You have to work to aim for the crew or engine, and it really feels like a rugged ground attack plane now.

If this is a sign of things to come with the other planes we are in for a lot of a fun in the coming months. Combined with the control surface fix things are looking really positive!

Would be interested to hear views from others.

Yes. Good job with correcting the cl2 wing structure. Here’s hoping you move quickly to the rest that need worked on.

By what rational does the CL2 become stronger ?  That’s not to suggest I’m not thrilled, I’m just curious.

Look man I'm not trying to be super toxic or anything but I wouldn't get your hopes up that they will explain their error for us. Just be glad it's improving finally.

I would categorise it as “Curious diffidence” rather than “hope”. That went out of the cockpit, without a parachute, a long time ago. Despite my best, self loathing, efforts though, I can’t help but get my hopes up ( I know, I know, don’t worry though  I’ll have the wife abuse, errrrr, I mean span……, crumbs,  she’ll have very strong words ).  We’re constantly told, again and again, that changes happen, ONLY, if it’s an ‘obvious’ bug or if overwhelming proof can be provided to support a revision.  So which is it in the the case of the CL2 ?  I know, shhhhhhh, it might be a bug, don’t draw attention to it in case they “fix” it.

The wings can now sustain a decent amount of 303 round damage and she will still be able to pull decent gs. It forces you to aim for the meat or metal to get your kill rather than to hit the wings once and watch them shed at low g. It’s a far more rewarding experience for both the CL2 and attacker IMO.

Hop on MP and give it a whirl!

One down,  nine to go.

(Not including the Dh4 and Breguet as unsure their wing status)

The only rationale for any assertion that cannot be proven conclusively, has to be general consensus.  If you say that's no rationale at all, I would have difficulty disagreeing.

The updated has been a disaster for the DH4 - our bombers are having the whole rudder fall off with minimal damage. Also, the wings are like paper now and even strafing a ground MG at the front will cause the wings to break off when you kill the gun. CL2 is better, but this has been a disaster for the DH4.

Perhaps they mixed up the CL2's DM with the DH4's.

Hmm .... the DM of the Camel's wings may be regarded as unfortunate but to have a similar trait on the DH4 looks like carelessness.

We'll really know once all the scouts are 'fixed'.

Glad to see this positive improvement to the DH2.  Hopefully the Camel wings will receive some developer love soon..

We got the DH2? Was that swapped out for the DH4, Oh god I'm so confused.

Were there any announcements about the DM fixes? That these fixes will be done from plane to plane? I got a notification from the Briefing Room, but I think for the B-25.

Bad news about the DH4 though. I hope this is not a pattern and that they fix it.

Buddy I was just kidding around, I know what you meant. Wish we did have the DH-2. Early planes are fun as well. Damn I wish we had the Wright flyer lol, Actually think DCS has that.

It's item 12 on the Oct 27 update:

12. An issue was fixed that caused the Airco DH.IV wing frame not to receive damage from bullet hits;

Apparently the wing frame was not receiving damage from bullet hits. I suppose that could be, but after the update we started experiencing issues where just a few shots would cause the whole rudder to break off. Then there's the wings apparently being blasted off by the shock wave of strafing a ground gun, which is strange.

I posted tracks awhile ago (maybe a month) and there’s no confirmation he’s using them to fix the game. Though the cl2 did get fixed, d7 and apparently DH4 were weakened and I never provided tracks for those two planes specifically.

Im primarily the one providing tracks but currently I do not have FC2 (and don’t intend on getting it), so if the DH4 has become broken recently then it’s up to you guys to make the effort to post a track over in complaints thread.

Its not hard. Start a Quick mission against a max skill d7. Press ctrl r to begin recording. Fly toward him at an offset. Dip your wing to him (and give opposite rudder to fly straight). He will shoot it. Now dive to about 120mph and begin pulling back on the stick. At what speed/g force does the wing break off?

Put track file and track folder into zip file, upload to Google or proton docs. Link to complaint thread with time stamp
