Beebop Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 (edited) I am posting here because the 'Multiplayer Servers and Hosting' topic is dedicated to the DServer. My problem is with the ingame server. Since the last update when I am running a multiplayer mission, when I leave the server the ingame server automatically starts a new mission, even if there is only one mission in queue. The next mission is a blank. If I have one or more in queue it starts that one. I have to 'Leave Server' twice to stop it. How do I stop this action? "Random rotation" is not ticked. PLEASE don't give me DServer instructions. I do not use a D Server. I do not want to. the ingame server has served me well until this last update. One of the guys I fly with regularly has a DServer and it gives him fits and starts. Often he will email the mission to me for hosting. I need to know how to properly set the built-in server since somehow my old settings have changed. * I have found nothing in any of the manuals on this. * I have found nothing on the forums about this. (besides the forum search function sucks IMO as even when you want to go to the next page it says you have to wait ~ 48 seconds to start another search???) Using Google just brings up DServer material, much of it from the earliest days of the game. Another thing, when hovering over the question marks on the server settings often it just repeats what the box is identified as. Like what is TDM Round time? When I hover over the question mark it says "TDM Round time". How effing helpful! Is there ANY documentation on what the fields mean and do when setting up a multiplayer in game server? Any help appreciated. Edited October 29, 2021 by Beebop
Beebop Posted November 5, 2021 Author Posted November 5, 2021 As of this post 138 people have looked at it and no one has bothered to respond? I know I'm not the only one this happens to.
BlitzPig_EL Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 I wish I had something for you Beebop, I run the ingame server for the Pigs, and have noticed this as well, though usually my missions run for quite long times, and I have them set so that even after the "objectives" are completed, the mission runs an additional hour. I rarely have the next mission auto start as the Pigs are a fairly fickle bunch and we tend to pick which missions we want to fly as we go, so I have to restart after a mission anyway to change to the next mission the guys want to fly.
No_85_Gramps Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 I have seen it here. Same as BlitzPig_EL as far as things go.
Beebop Posted November 5, 2021 Author Posted November 5, 2021 Thanks for the responses. I'm sure this is a good thing for anyone who runs serial short MP missions or has a server running for extended times but it's yet another annoyance when you are testing a Multiplayer mission. It goes again to we need to be able to test within the ME. I just need to keep reminding myself that mission builders are in the minority so not much love will be sent our way. 1

Any help appreciated. Here are some DRAFT pages from the 2019 work-in-progress editor manual re. DServer settings versus in-game settings. You can look up the description in the DServer Interface section at the end of the current manual. For example, the dogfight server in-game setting TDM round time is Max time for round in the DServer. Note that there are most likely additions/changes to some of the settings since 2019. Sorry, due to RL I am not updating the manual at this time. DRAFT Extract From FME Manual - DServer Settings Versus In-Game Server Settings.zip Edited November 5, 2021 by JimTM 1
