Hey!

I want to bring my father to the game but he is so bored when dealing with keyboard settings etc.

For that i really would like to talk with someone who can teach the gameplay and nessessary keyboard/Joystick settings to me so i can write it down in a comfortable way for my father.

I know he is interested in machines like in world wars and it would be a little dream to me if i can make him play an online game.

Additionally i hav some friend who like to play the game also. But most of them gave it up because it took to much time to occupy.

For talking i can join discord or ts3

Try following. If you have the game codes, try it yourself. Install the game. Read the key instructions. It is impossible to tell you everything. There are modern engines, older engines, fighter, bomber, ground attack aircraft, jet aircraft, tanks and anti aircraft. You have to go into detail.

If your father likes german fighter plane like the 109 i suggest the Bf 109 F. If you start with quick missions in the air you only need the fire button. German fighter planes are very easy and you only need a very few keybindings. Landing gear, flaps, engine start and fire button is alleady enough.

Well... not really - if you conduct an air-start with automatic engine management selected in the options - most of what is required to fly the plane can be connected to just a few joystick buttons - if you have a good joystick and set up the buttons it should be possible to have a lot of fun.

After that teach three key presses at a time (e.g. take-off teaching the 'raise gear' and 'raise flaps' keys... and maybe the brakes').

That is exactly what i wrote after this passage.

IMO when you shop for hardware i think a Thrustmaster 1600 set would be a good starter, buy using the TARGET software makes things too complicate.

For setting it up direct via the game there might be enough people using that here that can share their input folder. Tip: don't get it via steam, but buy it direct from IL2 itself.
