Albatross AI seems to be busted

I was attempting to get the Alb to damage me for other testing. He's set to Ace skill level yet he refuses to get guns on me, even when I fly straight and reduce my throttle.

It may not be the AI but something else to do with the QMB mission. Or just that the AI does not like very slow targets?

 

Easy way to check is to use the ME to create a simple test mission without all the QMB crap:  like the attached, which should show up in your missions list if you unzip the file into your data/missions/my missions folder. When I tried this the AI attacked me and got a few hits. Albatros AI Test.zip

 

For damage testing, ideally you want as few variables as possible, in a scenario that you can repeat exactly a number of times; hence creating your own simple missions is the best way to do it.
