109 + Spitfire's Love Child

I believe one of the primary reasons for fitting the Daimler Benz to the Spitfire was research to test the cooling system on the British fighter and it's effects on the German engine.

 

The inverted V is such a good looking engine arrangement. 109 and He-111 with Merlin engines look awful in comparison.

The only thing that annoys in the otherwise excellent movie Battle of Britain.

Have to disagree - I think it’s beautiful. One of the few good things about world of warplanes.
