jollyjack Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 (edited) Since i installed MS Flight simulator 2020 some of my trusted warthog buttons no longer work anymore in IL2 ... It looks like Microsuck'FS claimed them (not all) indefinitely, never to release them again after quitting. PS i don't use target, and if anyone knows what's going on, let me know please ! ? Gracias! ZachariasX Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 My installation of MSFS doesn‘t require stealing button functions to keep me on the edge of my seat at times. Regular update procedures are good enough for that. Check if you can see the buttons working in the windows settings menu. Warthog buttons do not work forever. I lost the coolie hat at some point. But space technology (WD-40) brought it back.
jollyjack Posted October 21, 2021 Author Posted October 21, 2021 (edited) Thanks, nope, the buttons no longer work, only after i installed MSFS (and changed a few button and keyboard functions alike i use them in IL2) these problems started. But after a while the whole joystick stopped working. I just ordered a new top part, and get the old one fixed later. I tested it on another computer too .... These units seem to develop problems, some times to be fixed by re-soldering some print connections. I asked Thrustmaster for advice; their support seems OK as they sent me a replacement button once before under warranty back then. Hope they react soon ... Edited October 21, 2021 by jollyjack
jollyjack Posted October 22, 2021 Author Posted October 22, 2021 Found the problem. It was due the fragility of the single cored flat cable in the joystick base, 2 wires broken ! It's IMO just not suited for the ever moving strains:
